Providing Services for People with Disabilities and Their Families

Children and adults with disabilities and special needs find highest-quality services designed to meet their individual needs when they come to Easter Seals. Teams of therapists, teachers and other health professionals help each person overcome obstacles to independence and reach his or her personal goals. Easter Seals also includes families as active members of any therapy program, and offers the support families need.

Easter Seals Central and Southeast Ohio is proud to provide the following services to 28 counties in Ohio and Wood County West Virginia;

Aquatics:
After 37 years, Easter Seals Central Ohio office has moved to a new facility on the northwest side of Columbus. Unfortunately, the facility does not have a pool at this time.

Adult Day Services: Anticipating the Needs of Adults with Disabilities and Older Adults
Worried about leaving your mother home alone all day? Thinking that a move into a nursing home or assisted living is the only option? Easter Seals Adult Day Services offer caregivers a better alternative.

Autism Services: Meeting the Needs of Families of Children with Autism
Easter Seals is the largest provider of autism services. A number of programs are offered to help families and professionals provide the best possible care for someone with autism.

Camp is about all the things children and adults can do -- play basketball, canoe, sing, eat s'mores and more. Easter Seals camping programs provide a safe, barrier-free environment for children and adults to experience all aspects of camp without usual limitations.

Early Childhood Education: Providing a Learning Environment for Children and Peace of Mind for Parents
Meeting a growing need for high-quality child care for more than 20 million young children and their working parents, early childhood education is designed for children 12-36 months. Young children are welcomed to a unique environment where children of all abilities learn together.

In-Home Services:  Emphasizing Personal Choice
People of all ages with disabilities or other special needs are able to live in their homes and communities in a less restrictive environment emphasizing personal choice.

Outpatient Therapy: Promoting Independence and Quality of Life
Whether through a birth condition, injury or illness, or because of functional limitations experienced in aging, Easter Seals medical rehabilitation services -- including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-hearing therapy and early intervention -- are the first step toward helping people with disabilities gain greater independence.

Respite Services: Providing Caregivers With a Needed Break
Easter Seals Weekend Respite provides families and caregivers a needed break from the challenges of caring for a child with an autism spectrum disorder. This break makes it possible for you and your family to manage other areas of your busy lives, knowing that your loved one is in a safe and caring environment.
